수의학 기술 개발을 위한 국제협력 방안을 모색하기 위한 자리로 마련한 ‘2014 대한수의학회 추계 국제학술대회’가 지난 10월 16~17일 제주에서 350여 명이 참석한 가운데 성황리에 개최됐다.
제주국제컨벤션센터에서 국제대회로 치러진 이번 추계학술대회는 ‘International Cooperation for the Development Veterinary Technology’를 주제로 특별강연이 총 8개의 세션으로 진행됐으며, Plenary Lecture와 Keynote Lecture를 비롯한 포스터와 구연 발표가 진행되며 국제대회로서의 면모를 보여주었다.
대회 첫 날 진행된 Plenary Lecture에서는 서판길(울산대) 교수가 ‘Signal Network Mediated by Phosphoinositide-Specific Phospholipase C Isozymes’에 대해, 한호재(서울대) 교수가 ‘Role of the Extracellular Matrix in Regulation Stem Cell Behaviors for Cell-Based Therapies’에 대해 강의해 시선을 모았다.
둘째 날 Keynote Lecture는 OIE 프랑스의 Dr. Elisabeth Erlacher-Vindel이 ‘미래를 향한 도전과 기대’를 주제로 강의했다.
이번 대회 메인 강연인 특별강연은 총 8개 세션으로 △Inter-national Cooperation in the Field of Veterinary △Inflammation and Cancer △Safety Assessment for Drugs △Prospect and Role of Veterinarian in Contract Research Organization(CRO) and Biopharmaceutical Industry △National Disastrous Animal Diseases △Zoonosis △Current Issues in Korean Veterinary Medical Education △Field Studies of Equine Diseases를 테마로 8개 강연장에서 동시에 진행됐다.
대회 둘째 날에는 포스터 총 300개와 구연발표 39개가 진행되며 시선을 집중시켰다.
